Green energy is one of the key industries for our company. We have extensive experience in smart metering, smart grid systems and intelligent charge stations for electric vehicles.

Smart metering

We developed an embedded platform for in-house smart metering applications. It performs data acquisition from various sources like electricity meters, gas meters, heat meters, etc. The data acquired is buffered in internal database and delivered to the customers central server. The smart metering platform contains on-board website that allows to adjust the settings, provides statistical information about the running system and shows the results of self-diagnostics. The embedded SOAP interfaces provide a portable way to connect the 3-d party clients like desktop or mobile applications. An embedded HTTPS client delivers metering data to the central server. The server can request our system to execute a number of commands defined by the protocol (send diagnostic information, modify the parameters, perform software update, etc).This provides an efficient way for remote control of the system in the field. The system is based on OSGI architecture and provides extensions for the applications that can use the core services (metering data access, HTTPS client, web interfaces, etc). Internally we use this extension mechanism to run smart grid applications and to control the charging station for electric vehicles.

Smart grid systems

Within the research project of a big energy concern we are developing an in-house part of the smart grid system that makes an aim to optimize production and consumption of the energy in the network. The smart grid application received the information from the central server about the cost of the electricity and efficiency of its usage for the next time period. Based of this information it is trying to optimize the consumption of home appliances and other devices in the house. The application is periodically sending the forecast of the consumption for the whole house thus providing the feedback for the server about the efficiency of its actions. This forecast is based on historical measurement data and statistical approaches. The devices that allow to accumulate different kinds of energy (battery backups, electric vehicles) can be used in this smart grid as well. In this case the customers house can not only consume but also produce energy back to the grid.

Charge stations for electric vehicles

We have experience in creating application-level software for the charge stations for electric vehicles. The software is running on our smart metering platform and controls the charging cycle. It supports both simple and intelligent vehicles (via SCC protocol).

The application of the charge station is sending various information to the central server: start/end time of the charge cycle, internal car ID, RFID of the user card, etc). This information can be easily used to build regional charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
